About – NCRide

PROVIDING SMILES AND CHANGING LIVES FOR 40 YEARS.

North Country RIDE (NCR) was incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 1982. NCR serves clients with a wide variety of challenges; physical, cognitive, emotional, mental, and behavioral. NCR is an accredited member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH, Intl.) Clients are able to participate in a variety of equine-assisted therapeutic activities, following individualized programs designed and taught by one of our PATH Int. certified instructors.

Our program operates on a seasonal basis: April through October. The season is divided into four 6-week sessions.

LOCATION

We are located in Esko, MN, 20 miles southwest of Duluth, MN. North Country RIDE owns 30 acres of land with a 69’x136′ arena for indoor lessons, a 100’x200′ outdoor arena, and a new client services & administration building.

From Interstate 35 Take exit #245/ Highway 61 exit, heading west towards Esko. Travel 4 miles on Hwy. 61. Turn Right onto Himango Road (first right after Widdes Farm Supply). Go 1 ½ miles and then turn left onto Hatinen Rd. North Country Ride is on the left at 180 Hatinen Road.
