Therapeutic Riding Programs

Therapeutic horseback riding helps clients with varying abilities develop self-awareness, build self-confidence, self-esteem, and improve concentration. Through horseback riding activities, riders can strengthen or relax muscles, and improve posture, core strength and balance. These activities also help increase coordination and joint mobility.

Riders range from 4 to 70 years of age and come from schools, day activity centers, rehabilitation centers, group homes as well as individual homes. They may be working on educational goals, life skills, improving posture, balance, sensory processing, or learning recreational and social skills. A great variety of individualized goals adapt to the therapeutic riding setting where the atmosphere, interactions, and commitment to a quality experience provide a wonderful opportunity for growth.

North Country RIDE is a member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Int.) Clients are able to participate in a variety of equine assisted therapeutic activities, following individualized programs designed and taught by one of our PATH Int. registered certified instructors.

Is there any weight limit? I have a larger client looking at the therapeutic riding program.

We do have a weight limit of 200lbs but if your client exceeds this, keep checking back. We may have some more options in the future.
